Words and Utopia is a video archive of interviews with over fifty filmmakers, all leading figures of international contemporary film landscape.

The project started in 2001, and over the years grew into over seventy hours of rare, in-depth conversations.

It exists also in the form of a book (Atlante sentimentale del cinema per il XXI secolo) comprising the majority of the interviews, and operating as a transcription or a screenplay to the entire project.

Each interview can function on its own, akin to an independent episode of an imagined series. Several of them have been screened at various film festivals and similar events, while the majority remains unreleased.

The project mean to put this material on line as a living archive (in progress) favouring his diffusion. Through the translations, the circulation of the conversations (from festival screenings to dvd), art installations (for museums or art foundations) and the achievment of an interactive map-website.
